| Wives Submit to Your Husbands |

Every member of Christ the Body is to submit himself or herself to every other member. This is what Scripture says.
We are to submit to every authority that God has set. However, when the civil authorities go against God's laws, we may have to suffer because we cannot obey the law. We see this in the Bible. We see this in Communist and Muslim countries. It seems that the woman is given the responsibility to the entire Church of being the example of submission. The man is to be the example of what it is to love. It is not that the man does not submit. It is not that the woman does not love. The woman submits her talents, her abilities, the ministry of Christ in her to her husband. They two are one. She submits herself to him and they two act as one singular ministry to Christ. The husband may be wrong in his decision. If the wife knows that the husband is about to make a mistake, then her submission will cause her to respectfully submit her observation to her husband. Note that she can present her observation in a way that makes it very difficult for her husband to receive her ministry, just as a man can take the headship in an unloving way and make it very difficult for the woman to accept his ministry to her. If the man speaks gruffly, this doesn't remove the responsibility of the woman to submit, but it does make submission difficult. The woman can turn to Christ and allow the Christ in her to submit to her husband, which is what must actually happen. If a woman speaks in a critical or disrespectful way to her husband, though she is exactly correct in what she says, it makes it very difficult for her husband to receive her ministry. The man can turn to Christ and allow Christ to love his wife through him, which is what must actually happen anyway. Christ must always do the work. He is the only source of true love or respect or submission. A man with any amount of wisdom at all will pay attention to the advice of the wife he has received from God. A woman with any amount of wisdom will seek to build up her husband and her home with every thought, word, and action. A man or a woman can tear down their home and each other, but they themselves lose in the process. If the man asks the woman to sin, this is a different story. The woman cannot do it. An unbelieving husband may not allow his wife to go to church, and the woman may win him by doing what he asks and continuing to show him respect. If the husband asks the wife to help him commit a crime or to be involved in some sort of perversion of marriage, the woman cannot do this, however.
