The father is the protector, priest, and provider for the home. He must protect the home. One of the ways that a man protects his home is by realizing that marriage is for life regardless of feelings. Another way that he protects the home is by always keeping the Holy Spirit moving in his home. Sometimes, the duties and responsibilities of marriage become difficult. The man is responsible to be flowing with the Anointing of the Holy Spirit, the Anointing of God's Love, no matter what. Marriage requires commitment, love, maintenance, and work. Marriage is a three-person holy covenant relationship between a man, a woman, and Jesus Christ. Both husband and wife ought to commit to God to center their marriage relationship on Jesus Christ. The family alter is vital to the home. The father should be the first mover in this and the wife should support it with all her heart. The risk of marriage failure goes up sharply if a family does not hold daily family devotions, with Bible reading and prayer, and attend Church weekly. The relationship must be tested, that is true, but only the King of kings can cause the marriage to endure. Some Christians have had wonderful weddings with very Godly vows, but they have then gone on to living fleshly lives and made a mess of their marriage, often ending in divorce. We human beings were created in such a way that we cannot find any degree of satisfaction unless we are flowing with the Anointing of God in righteousness leading to holiness and redemption (freedom from bondage). This only comes by centering our lives on Christ and allowing Him to lead in everything. In other words, this only happens through submission to Jesus. All husbands or wives who are walking in the Spirit will be led to be very attentive to the needs of their own spouses, spiritually, physically, and sexually. They will be led and empowered by the Holy Spirit to please one another in the holiness of this union. It is possible to make your home into the very Kingdom of God here on Earth. Wherever the King is, the Kingdom is there. Do not try to accomplish this in your own power. Look to Jesus for His constant leading and power for righteousness, and you will be successful. Do you see Christ in your spouse, or are you blind to His presence. We all need to discern and see the Body of Christ. We see all the gifts, ministries, offices, and orders of the Church. We also can discern and recognize the false. When we see Him as He is, we become like Him. He is a many-membered Body on Earth walking in submission the the Head in Heaven. The way of the cross is submission and love. Only the Holy Spirit can make this possible. God has a way. That way involves the home according to the order of Scripture. It also involves the church moving according to the order of the Scripture as revealed by the Spirit. "Submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God. Wives, submit yourselves to your own husbands, as to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the savior of the body. Therefore as the church is subject to Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in everything. Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish. So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself. For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as the Lord the church: For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones. For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined to his wife, and they two shall be one flesh. This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church. Nevertheless let every one of you in particular so love his wife even as himself; and the wife see that she reverence her husband." Ephesians 5:21-33
