Beatitudes for the Home
BLESSED are the husband and wife who continue to be affectionate and considerate, loving after the wedding bells have ceased ringing—for their marriage will last. BLESSED are the husband and wife who are as polite and courteous to one another as they are to their friends—for they will build each other up. BLESSED are the husband and wife who learn to hear God’s Voice and only speak His Words--for they will stop using their words as weapons against each other and against others and will only say those things that build up, comfort, and encourage toward righteousness. BLESSED is the young person who is able to discern the Body of Christ and the unity of that Body across all age groups--for they will not be deceived by those who try to create and artificial division between the young and the old. BLESSED is the child who learns how to seek Christ and find Him, how to inquire before the Lord and have a real relationship with Christ—for they will be happy in childhood and will become a wise adult. BLESSED are the parents who teaches the children when they rise up, all day long, and when they go to bed at night, by example, by word, and by authority, neither in anger nor in trying to frustrate or prove who is in control but in building up, comforting, and encouraging toward righteousness—for their children will bless them all their lives. BLESSED are those who listen to God speaking His will into their innermost beings (whether through the Bible, through a ministry, through creation, or directly through the conscience) and allow His Faith to come to them so that His Faith gives access to His Grace and His Grace thinks His thoughts, says His Words, and does His Works through them--for nothing else is Righteousness ever and whatever is not of Faith is off the path that leads to the genuine and absolute Life. BLESSED are the husband and wife who forgive even as their toes are being stepped on--for they will never be tormented by lingering bitterness in their hearts. BLESSED are the husband and wife who seek the Face of God and discern and listen to the Holy Spirit’s Voice rather than ungodly council--for they will be able to stand up under pressure and will not be easily deceived by lies dressed up in nice-sounding words. BLESSED are the husband and wife who, by the Leading and the Power of the Holy Spirit, choose the good and leave the evil--for they partake of the FREE GIFT of the Righteousness of God. BLESSED are they who love their spouses more than any other person in the world and who joyfully fulfill their marriage vows of a lifetime of fidelity and mutual helpfulness to one another--for they are living in the Kingdom Realm. BLESSED are the husband and wife who only do those things that the Holy Spirit directs them to do--for they have found that very narrow and restricted path that leads to the genuine and absolute life of the coming Age and have avoided stepping onto the wide path that leads to misery and death. BLESSED are those who remember to thank God for their food before they partake of it, and who set apart some time each day for the reading of the Bible and for prayer--for they have chosen God’s pattern over the pattern of the world. BLESSED are the husband and wife who seldom if ever speak loudly or sharply to one another and who make their home a place where seldom is heard a discouraging word--for they shall bless their children and friends with the peace of God. BLESSED are the husband and wife who faithfully attend the worship service of the church and who work together in the church for the advancement of Christ's Kingdom--for they are already experiencing Heaven while on the Earth. BLESSED are the husband and wife who can work out problems of adjustments between themselves without interference from others--for they have fulfilled something of the pattern of the Kingdom of the Heavens and the Earth. BLESSED are the man and woman who keep themselves pure before marriage, neither partaking of nor looking at nor desiring nor talking about that to which they have no right, but rather being faithful to each other in thought, word, and deed--for they shall have a more fulfilling and complete marriage at the right time. BLESSED are the husband and wife who keep themselves pure after marriage, neither partaking of nor looking at nor wanting nor talking about that to which they have no right, but rather being faithful to each other in thought, word, and deed--for they shall have a more fulfilling and complete marriage. BLESSED are the husband and wife who have a good understanding and who pray for guidance regarding financial matters and who have worked out a total partnership with all money and possessions under the control of both--for God will give them His Divine Wisdom in their unity. BLESSED are the husband and wife who humbly dedicate their lives and their home to Christ and who practice the teachings and patterns of Christ in the home, including being unselfish, loyal, loving, pure, and kind--for their home has become part of the Kingdom of God. BLESSED are the husband and wife who never even consider infidelity, cutting off communication, or divorce as an option, or even something to be joked about or threatened, but who take every disagreement to the Throne of God for His will in the matter--for they shall dwell securely with each other. BLESSED are the husband and wife who are equally yoked with the yoke of Christ, which constrains them in righteousness, and who recognize that they each have a fleshly nature but each of them IS a manifestation of the living Christ within them--for they are truly seeing the Kingdom of Heaven. BLESSED is the husband who stays right even when his wife is wrong--for his marriage will be at least half right, and BLESSED is the wife who stays right even when her husband is wrong--for her marriage will be at least half right. BLESSED is the husband who loves and cherishes his wife, no matter what. And BLESSED is the wife who respects and honors her husband no matter what. BLESSED are the husband and wife who understand their differences--for they shall optimize their marriage.
